Program to Bring Quality Online Degrees to Fortune 500 Companies, 2.5 Million
Employees
-- Alliance connects largest university network with largest corporate
education community --
September 3, 2003, Salt Lake City, UT - Online University Consortium, the nation's largest
network of leading universities, today announced it is one of an exclusive
number
of vendors
to be selected for the LearnShare Vendor Identification Program (VIP).
The program enhances Online UC's visibility among the world's
largest organizations representing a combined budget of over $1 billion,
and provides
LearnShare's 2.5 million employee consortium members with easy access
to 220 fully accredited online degree programs.
The LearnShare VIP program is an effort fueled by 28 of the world's largest corporate learning
departments. (See http://www.learnshare.com for complete list.) Vendor
selection is based on corporate recommendation. The program has only a select
number
of vendors, all of which are subject to performance standards.
"A significant value that Online UC delivers to our corporate members
is in identifying the nation's best online degree-granting schools," notes
Matt Franks, LearnShare's VIP Coordinator, "and providing over
220 accredited online degree programs from top name universities."
By enabling companies to cut through confusing options and identify quality
providers, LearnShare complements Online UC's drive to raise the bar
on online learning standards and increase corporate understanding of best
practices for selection of online degree programs.
"The Consortium's participation in LearnShare's VIP program is
essential as we become the go-to destination for anyone seeking quality
online degrees," said Greg Eisenbarth, Online UC's Executive
Director.
Online UC members are widely respected educational institutions that
have both surpassed a seven-point qualification standard and educated
thousands of company executives and contributing members of today's workforce.
Some members include: University of Michigan, USC, University of Texas, The
George
Washington University, University of Illinois and University of Florida.
