Executive Master of Public Administration
Since 2002, professionals in government, nonprofit and service organizations have been able to earn a degree without putting their lives or careers on hold. Busy professionals can complete an executive degree, in just two years, by collaborating online and attending weekend monthly class meetings on Ohio University's Athens campus.

The program combines the convenience of online learning with intensive classroom interaction. Classes are scheduled two per quarter during the academic year. The residencies consist of class meetings that begin at 6 p.m. Friday, 8:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. Saturday, and 9 a.m. Sunday. All courses are led by Ohio University faculty. By combining high academic standards with a convenient schedule, we have created an executive MPA to meet your needs.

Corporate Training

eBusiness Essentials
The Ohio University eBusiness Essentials Training Program is a customized corporate training program conducted between partnering corporations and Ohio University Without Boundaries(OUWB). The training program format is a high-intensity blend of face-to-face and online learning experiences. Historically, three Ohio University faculty ebusiness experts and two to three trainers from partnering companies participate in each training program that takes place on the Athens, OH campus of Ohio University over the course of three weeks. The content, length of time and number of faculty and trainers is customizable depending on an organization's specific needs. All trainees are provided a laptop computer for use while in Ohio and temporary use of the Ohio University Without Boundaries Intranet.

The program is built around learning projects and applicable online learning experiences . Trainees work through the projects in teams with each participant partnering with a new set of team members on each project. Team projects and learning experiences are designed around the unique needs of the partnering organization.

In addition to these team projects and the on-line learning experiences, Faculty also present a number of “Spotlight” sessions during the three-week residency. These “Spotlight” sessions focus on communication techniques including presentation skills and team building techniques.

Partnering companies have determined that the successful training of new IT consults in the eBusiness Essentials Program has strengthened their employee's relationship to the company and reduced attrition significantly. They have also shown documented increased performance in employees and decreased the time of adjustment to new environments. Program trainees have also demonstrated more initiative, taken on additional responsibilities and required less supervision.
